今日も美術の”取れ高”いただきました。
来年の干支の版画を開始しました。
火曜キンダーキッズクラス
子供たちは60分、とても集中して版画を行うことができました。
版画の”像が反転して印刷される”、その過程が不思議で、そして子供たちをひきつけ、やる気にさせたようです。
版画を行うことで、文字や数字が反転してプリントされるのは本当に面白いですよね。
大人は当たり前のように考えてしまいますが、子供たちにとっては新鮮に映るんですね。

火曜プライマリーキッズクラス
こちらのクラスでも”干支の版画”を開始しました。
最終的に版画をした場合、版に彫ったところが”白く”なり、掘らなかったところが”黒く”なることを前提にして掘り進めていきました。
試し刷りもなかなか完成度が高い。

As you may probably know that we have got “a satisfactory level of performance” in making block prints featuring dogs images.
I presumably think that dogs are symbolised as the annual animal in 2018 in some Asian countries such as China and Japan. I should shorten the explanation of this symbolisation here.
In the Kinder-Kids class, children were amazed and fascinated by the process of reversing printing of block print. In fact, numbers and letters have been reversely printed on paper which seemed to be a magical process to make figures flipped out.
Such magical process made children motivated, thereby, they so much focused on making their printing plates during the class.
In the Primary-kids class, children also kept their motivation to making the original plates.
One of the children had a test printing and it seemed to be as good as done although it was, of course, a trial to find places to be modified. But, it was cool enough at that stage.
Painting Landscape as the lesson content was very well done because we reached the objectives in which we should be able to learn the basic skills and practices of watercolour painting. All children had thoroughly engaged and applied skills and techniques they had learnt in the class.
