Term 2 is nearly finished and the last Monday lesson in Akihirolab in Term 2 2018 had been done.

A task we did was printmaking can be appropriately thought of as the last work in this term.

All the work by children seems to be the evidence which tells us about what they had seen and thought through the process of printmaking.

The major preparation for printmaking was done in the previous class such as drawing images (an engraving by a needle) on the plastic plate, the plate becomes the original plate of printing. Today’s class, in turn, focusing on the process of the printing with the plate.

A lot of stuff where on the table got blackened because of spreading the ink of printing, while the process of putting the ink on the plate. Disposable gloves and smocks were worn to keep the hands and clothes clean, but I certainly know this sort of work was fun.

Blacken the original plate and then the ink on the surface of the plate was removed but the ink in lines engraved by the needle remained.

The ink left to be printed on a piece of paper put through a high-pressure printing press.

The pint as you see was pressed and its image was transferred from the original plate. Lines of work could vary.

The original plate put in the oven to get it shrunk for making it as a key ring.

In this term, throughout, I consistently observed the children and confirmed their development which always made me happy. I suppose we have built a rapport relationship.

I must thank children all participating in the lesson.

I am looking forward to seeing you again and soon in Term3!
